  • I just want to say, that I found a wiki, a Rotg roleplay wiki and if, you could say to the others, that they could roleplay as their characters there. I can give you the link if you want to: Rise of the Guardians roleplay Wiki.

  • Hello Bronze Wool. I have a question to ask you. I'm very confused now about this wikia (mostly because I haven't been on in a long time), are we allowed to roleplay here? There some threads that are mostly full of roleplaying. I'm only roleplaying on one thread as of right now (which is right here). Also, is there another ROTG wikia specifically made for roleplay? Sorry about all the questions, like I've said before, I'm very confused.

    • Sorry this reply is 4 days late, but I haven't been around the site for the last week.

To answer you're question, I don't actually know if role playing is allowed on the wikia sites, since there is nothing mentioned about it in the official rules. However, since the site has a Forum room for personal use, then I see no reason why RPing should not be allowed, as long as everyone is enjoying themselves.

If there is a ROTG wikia site purely for roleplaying, then I have not come across it. The only other wikia site we have is the Fanon Wikia, but I have not personaly visited the site, but it might have some role playing.

    • It's ok. I've been able to ask some other admins anyway.

Ok, good. I've been worried about it not being allowed. :)

  • North: Hello there Bronze Wool. We all the guardians have a little problem. It's about the pictures. We don't know how to get to the other pictures (the movie pictures). When, like me, clicked on a page -for ancering the questions to our fans and we would add some pictures with it. So, when I click the little tab for pictures (add photo) I write in the empty space (search, like North aka me) I see some photos, that are from the movies and from books and strips. But the thing is, that we would just have our pictures from our movie. I looked in the gallery for the pictures and I found them, but they were (title of the picture) wroted with some numbers. And you know me.. a bit old and have little less memborie for the numbers...and I just want if you can tell me..us how to search it (in a easy way, withouth writing difficult numbers).

  • I saw that you turn on the Jack Frost page back on (and all the others). Thank you. But what do we have to write? Something about Jack? Or what?

      Loading editor
    • That's the thing, I don't mind what ppl write. If you wanna have an indepth discussion about Jack's character, awesome. If you want to write a one word state that says "Jack Frost is my favourite character." Brilliant. I don't have a problem with that.

What I have a problem with is ppl using the comment boxes for something that has no business being in the comment boxes. For example, Imagine if you and I were on a board about a fandom we both liked (it doesn't have to be ROTG), then out of nowhere someone comes along and starts up a conversation that has nothing to do with what we're talking about. We politely asked them to go away, and even direct them to a discssion board that would be more relevent to them, so we can go back to our own thing.

Only they don't. They bring more people into the fold and suddenly, depsite that fact our discussion clearly states it about this very specific thing, suddenly they've taken it and used it for something else entirely, and its now lost all meaning.

Again, I don't care what people talk about as long as their being polite to everyone else. Whatever poll or forum you want to start up in the community section of the wiki, I'm cool with, because thats what's its there for. That's the corner where you can talk about whatever, whenever. So when people bombared Jack's page with RPing, and their personal lives, I find it very disrespectful.

That might just be my opinion. Maybe no one else is thinking that, but when I look back on all the hard work The Rush, and everyone else put into making Jack's page, and presenting it, for us to read and enjoy; I don't think us scrolling to the bottom of the page and looking at the cooments like we were logging into facebook, is quite what they had in mind.

  • I happen to have a safety/security concern, regarding my account. It is nothing personal, but I just had a pop-up, pop up, and I would rather not risk my accounts to something of this sort.

    • Hey, I left you a message on your wall but I'm gonna tell it again cuz I'm not sure if it went through. If you want to disable your account, you could go to Contact Wikia which is at the bottom of any page as long as it's a Wiki. There is a link that says Disable my account if you go there you just need to check off two little boxes and I think that's it. But, just warning you, I don't know cuz I've never disabled my account, and I'm not sure if it's permanent or anything. Hope this helps, otherwise you can just go to an admin like The Rush or Bronze Wool for help.

  • How many William are there?

    1. Old William
    2. Not as Old William
    3. Tall William
    4. William the almost youngest
    5. William the absolute youngest

Are these all of the Williams?

    • aww memories, this is one of the first things I asked you guys when I first joined the site.

And actually, I don't know anymore. My copy of Sandman won't arrive in the post until tomorrow, but I'm still not sure how many Williams there are. I know there are three children, and Old William, the elder of Santoff Claussen, but I have yet to meet "Not as Old William".

I'm even beginning to question the names themselves, because even though they're reffered to by these in the narrative, I don't recall a single moment where any of the other characters call them by those names outloud.

    • I'm afraid this is not the correct short film. The film was made by Reel FX Studios (an american company), and William Joyce himself was said to the director. The short does not include his name in the credits.

thank you for your efforts though :) I hope they eventually release the short for the public to see.

    • Oh sorry about that i didnt know. I just guessed it was the right one because it was the title and everyone was talking about rise of the guardians in the comments. Youre welcome and I hope I get to se eit one day.

  • So, a while back I was reading Haroom's page, and I noticed the wording on some things sounded funny. I was hoping either u or I could fix that .

Here's an example: the Sister's of Flight flew down on them, their weapons in hand (I would have typed this line slanted, but my computer wouldn't allow that for whatever reason). I know it's proper grammer and everything, I just thought it would be better if it's wording was worded differently. You know, put "with" in front of "their". They're also a few more errors like this through out Haaroom's page.

Personally I think it would be easier for younger kids to read.

    • Everything we need to know about Jamie can be explained by just looking at his room, his posters and his interaction with his mother and sister.

      http://riseoftheguardians.wikia.com/wiki/File:Perry_Maple_07.jpg

In The art book of Rise of the Guardians and the DVD commentary, the filmmakers make it clear that Jami lives with a single working mum who can't always afford to buy them new and expensive toys (clearly they wanted Jamie to be the highly imaginative kid who wasn't a drooling zombie in front of the computer, like most of us). His room has a few toys, like a robot toy, some clay ninja figures, little plane models hanging from the ceiling, and a chest that looks like its filled with small toys, like mini cars. However, the majority of the things in his room were crafted by hand. He has a cardbaord castle, some of the poster on his wall were drawn himself, and his shelf is littered with books, both fictional and factual. He's a creative kid who has plenty of free time and with not many modern day toys, he makes up for it with his imagination.

Even the posters on his walls give us a hint of what he's in to. There are animals, rockets, and even a monster list that he ticks off himself. Even more fascinating is the "Rainbow Quest IX" poster, which bares a striking resemblance to the Guardians themselves, and may be a reference to the Final Fantasy games, since there is brief glimpse of a "Rainbow Quest X" as well, with a dragon like creature on cover. However, we know Jamie doesn't have any consules (or a TV for that matter), so it could easily be a cartoon or comic book. If it is in fact a game, then Jamie might have played it when going over to Claude and Caleb's house (but that's a BIG maybe).

the first two people we see Jamie with are Claude and Caleb, supposedly his best friends. Howeve,r the companion comic book, shows us that he is equally close with Monty, if not mroe so, when they have a sleep over together and talk about mysteries of the world. He also knows Pippa, Monty's next door neighbour, and the two get on quite well, and she's normally the one stnaidng next to him in group shots or the last one to say something to him. And as we all know, it was thanks to Jack that they all realised Cupcake was a nice person and after a single snowball fight together, they invited her along on their easter egg hunt the next day.

Now, we know Jamie is close with his sister, but his relaitonship with his mother tells us alot about the family, even though she's never fully seen in the film.

      http://riseoftheguardians.wikia.com/wiki/File:Perry_Maple_06.jpg

As the filmmaker's said, she's a single working mother, and yet she is constantly seen with her kids, when they go out to play, and when she puts them to bed. This isn't the cliche, she has to work two full time jobs to be able to support her family, constantly tired and overworked, and never around. She clearly has some degree or experience that allows her to work a single full time job and support two kids (just nto enough to spoil them with exspensive gifts). The father is also never mentioned, indicating that he died or the two merely seperated. Jamie is not haunted by a lack of a fahter figure, so what ever happened, happened sometime after Sophie was born. Basically, its the Toy Story scenario, where Andy didn't have a father in either of the 3 films, but it wasn't important to the plot, it was just showing not every family has a mother and father, and the family doesn't have to be dysfunctional because of it.

I think that, tells us plenty of Jamie. He's smart, curious, imaginative and inventive. He's that kid you knew as a child, while the rest of us were slowly catching glimpses of our parents putting the presents under the christmas tree, he still hung on to fables, magic and pixie dust, for just a little bit longer. Which we all thought was silly, but at the same time we couldn't help but find it very charming and innocent. And that's the thing about Jamie, he's charming and inoccent, in that way he wants to leanr, wants to find facts that Yetis exist, and wants a reason to keep on believing.
